Short description of the project:

The project was performed by specialists of Start engineering Co. branch Sofia by preliminary design of Kvaerner Process (Provence) SNC and specific requirements of the employer.

The microprocessor control system consists of programmable logic controller (PLC) SIMATIC S7-300 of SIEMENS and operator’s station (OS) based on a personal computer (PC) Packard Bell. The connection between them is digital serial interface by RS485 standard with conversion in the ÐÑ by MPI card.

 The PLC is supplied by 24V DC from redundant rectifier 40À, and the PC – from 220V, 50Hz. The 220V, 50Hz supply of the rectifier and the PC is from UPS of Merlin Gerin

 The application software for the controller is realized by means of the programming language STEP 7 of SIEMENS, and the application software for the operator’s station – by means of the vizualization software WinCC of SIEMENS.

Short description of the project:

The project was executed by specialists of START ENGINEERING Co. BRANCH SOFIA by instruction of MONTAZHPROEKT OOD

The originally erected tank for 200 m3 propane-butane has changed its designation – only for propane. Two new tanks for propane-butane 400 m3 each were erected along with the relevant piping and valve structure (including an option for blending).

The microprocessor control system has changed. The CPU is now redundant and operates in warm redundancy mode by means of SW-Redundancy V1.1. software. Besides this, by recommendation of START ENGINEERING JSCo.  the Operator’s station was made redundant (SHELL GAS purchased another licence for WinCC Runtime) and this proved quite appropriate in a certain critical moment (failure of the first Operator’s station).

Performance: 2004

Short description of the project:

The project was executed by specialists of START ENGINEERING Co. BRANCH SOFIA by task assignment  of MONTAZHPROEKT OOD.

A third LPG pump and pressure transmitter for it are mounted. Five new flow transmitters are mounted: 1 after the propane tank, 2 at Road Tank Loading Facility (liquid and gas phase) and 2 at Railway Tank Unloading Facility (liquid and gas phase). A pressure transmitter is mounted at the Railway Tank Unloading Facility as well. The new transmitters communicate with the control system via PROFIBUS PA. The interface to PROFIBUS DP is made by two DP/PA couplers. The purpose of this additional equipment is to provide more complete and timely information on the material flows in the station, as well as to improve the control and safety of the facilities.
